Susan D. Wier is an experienced financial advisor who has successfully built two financial service firms from the ground up. Susan is a co-owner and Executive Vice President of First American Trust LLC. She assists high-net-worth individuals with financial, estate, insurance and investment planning.

Susan is a Certified Financial Planner, a Master Registered Financial Consultant and a Chartered Financial Consultant. She holds Series 7 and 63 Series Security Licenses. She is President of First American Advisory, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisory firm.

Susan's industry awards include the 1999 Indiana Jack Peckinpaugh Award from NAIFA Indiana, Principal Financials’ Region 5 Rookie of the Year, Principal Financial Premier Club, MONY Premier Club, Lincoln Benefit President’s Club, National Quality Award, and life and qualifying member of Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), with 9 Court of the Table awards. She has taught LUTC Personal Insurance, Business Continuation, Disability, and Financial Planning courses. She has authored numerous continuing education courses. Susan was a 2003 recipient of the Newsweek/LIFE Foundation Real Life Stories Client Service Award. She is a frequent speaker to industry groups and has spoken at MDRT. Susan is a 2005 graduate of the Leadership in Life Institute (LILI).

Susan is a member of the Financial Planning Association, NAIFA-Bloomington, NAIFA, Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Hoosier Hills Estate Planning Council, and the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA). Susan has served as 7th District President - ALA, President of NAIFA-Bloomington and NAIFA-Indiana, President of the Hoosier Hills Estate Planning Council, and President of the Bloomington Local Council of Women. She has served as a national Trustee for NAIFA, is Secretary of the Indiana Financial Services Foundation for Education. Susan serves on the Board of Directors for the financial services magazine “Advisor Today.” She served 11 years as a member of the Bloomington Hospital Board of Directors, where she served as Secretary of the Board, chairman of the Finance Committee, as well as the Pension/ Investment and Strategic Management Committees. Susan is a member of 100+ Women Who Care. She is the President-elect of the Sunflower Gardens Homeowner Association. Honored by Bloomington Chamber of Commerce with the Women Excel Award, 2017.

Susan is the widow of Dr. Charles E. Wier, a consulting Geologist, and they have 5 grown

children, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
